Catch Up

So I am thinking it's time for me to post something, what do you think? I am terrible at this whole blogging thing. Why did I start it again? Well, Josh and I have been sort of busy lately. Well, mostly Josh. I'm still going to school and Josh is still dealing with my pregnant mood swings. Poor guy. I get tired, I take it out on him. I get hungry, I take it out on him. I can't sleep, I shove him because he's breathing on me. And every time I apologize to him after I feel better (sometimes).
Well, Josh and I have been talking about remodeling our kitchen since we got married. We were planning on getting it done before baby Jack is here but we had to do it in March before Josh started getting really busy at work. The first week goes by in March, we don't do anything. Second week of March goes by, we don't do anything. Here comes the third week, and Josh decides that we don't need to wait any longer and he starts hammering holes in the walls with the theory in mind that if our kitchen is a mess, it will force us (mostly him) to get it done and stop being scared to do it. First thing on the list, knock down some walls. Our kitchen was basically a cave with original everything from 1986.

Josh and his friend Brian about to knock out this wall
Then Josh tore down another wall and built in a pantry. He could be on "This Old House." He's amazing.
So instead of giving a step by step of everything we (Josh) did, I'll just post some pics and describe if needed. PS, why is it so difficult to post pictures on Blogger?

Some Before Pics

Before Pics

The fridge was moved to the middle of the kitchen, it used to be to the right where the wall was before Josh knocked it down
This is Josh gettin' ready to install our flooring.

Here is the almost finished product.

The kitchen is basically done now. Josh just painted the cabinets white and we got a cool new sink. I keep forgetting to take pictures of it to post. All that needs to be done now are the little things that aren't vital for a kitchen to be functional. Seriously, it was horrible having no kitchen for awhile. But Josh got it done in less than a month due to working until 2 am and getting up at 6 am so he could get it done. He's one of those people that actually finishes things that he starts. Weird. Plus, it seems when your house is a complete disaster, so are other things in your life, doesn't it? With help from Brian, Josh's coworker, Matt, Josh's brother and Scotty, Josh's BFFer, this was all possible. And thanks to me, always looking over Josh's shoulder bothering him.

San Diego Fun

So Josh and I went to San Diego a couple of weekends ago to celebrate two things. One being our one year anniversary. The other being our last Hurrah of being a childless couple. We wanted to go on vacation without having to pack a child one last time. It rained on us just about the whole time while we were there. That meant that my hair was pretty much unmanagable, so I had to have top ramen hair :) We decided that it would be an awesome experience to go Whale Watching. I get motion sick very easily but I had taken a Dramamin that morning to be prepared. I had taken this picture of the Seasickness Bags on the boat thinking it was pretty funny. It was a nice ride while we were in the harbor and Josh and me were taking a few pictures and having a good ol' time. But then we hit the open water and I was a goner. For about two thirds of the 3 1/2 hour boat trip I was horribly sick. Some volunteer whale watchers were even trying to get me to look at the whales but I ignored them. I didn't realize that having another human being rolling around in my stomach combined with my motion sickness was a lethal combination. Horrible. Josh then got sick as well and we were quite a pair for the boat employees. It's hilarious now but at one point during the ride I started crying because I was angry the captian wouldn't turn the boat around because I was puking my intestines out. We both just got to the point of trying to survive.
Anyway, we were able to redeem the trip by going to the zoo while it poured. The rain wasn't so bad because the crowds were small and the animals were out. The San Diego Zoo is pretty cool. I was trying to get a pic of the animal behind Josh. I can't quite tell if it worked :)This is the only picture of me during the trip. Good Times.
It was a great trip, we stayed at an awesome resort and ate some good food. I love San Diego.
I really appreciate my husband. I've become some crazy emotional lady since I've become pregnant and Josh has been so great. I can't believe that he still wants to hang around me after being married for a year. Love you Josh!

It's a Boy!!

So, I have to admit, I was pretty positive that Josh and I were going to have a girl so I was pretty shocked when I saw that little extremity :) Josh had his hands in the air with excitement when we saw it. What was the coolest experience for me though was to watch the ultrasound. To be able to see his little face and his little bum and hands and feet. So crazy. The office gave us a DVD of it so we've been playing it to our families. Josh usually sits right up in front of the TV to point out every little thing, he is so excited. I'm so excited too I promise. As the day has gone by, I am thinking about the baby's room and all of the clothes and toys and the things we'll teach him.
I made the Doctor double check to make sure that it was a boy, and she said, "See that, well it's not a third leg." So hilarious. Josh thinks that that meant that he's well endowed :) Once we scan the ultrasounds I'll post them. But I just wanted to announce it to those that see our blog.
PS, I just want to say also congrats to my old roommate, McCall and her husband, Bones, their little boy, Aiden John, was born on Sunday.
